An early 20th-century German Jugendstil tray by Max Dannhorn, combining a pierced silver-toned metal frame with a glazed ceramic insert decorated with stylised green foliage and delicate white flowers. The fan-shaped handles and small raised feet give this piece a distinctive architectural silhouette.

The underside bears the red item number 9010, associated with Dannhorn's production. The ceramic insert is attributed to Villeroy & Boch, Mettlach, a known supplier of inserts for this type of metalwork.

Condition: Antique patina, fine surface scratches and discolouration to the metal. A faint diagonal line is visible across the ceramic; whether it is a surface mark or hairline crack has not been established. Photographs show the detail.
